The Smith's Arms (previously known as the Blacksmith Arms) on Sherratt Street in Ancoats, Manchester was built in 1775, it was first used as a three-storey residence, being surrounded by factories and mills during the industrial boom of the 19th century. It only became a pub in 1827 and was the last standing original pub in Ancoats until it was sadly demolished despite appeals in 2016 for apartment construction.
