Beast from the East, Twenty Trees

from £29.00

The Beast from the East as I’m sure most will remember, was the anticyclone that brought strong easterly winds into Europe and the British Isles, leading to snowfall and sub-zero temperatures as result of freezing air from Siberia.

Snowed in and bored, I was itching to get out with my camera. I decided to brave the elements and venture up to the Shooting Cabin. On my way up Snake Path towards Twenty Trees the blizzard was even more intense being that bit higher up and exposed on the hillside. I nearly got blown over a few times and I eventually made it to Twenty Trees and managed to capture this shot. I say managed as I could hardly see and the wind was so strong, it made the whole process rather difficult. I had intended to walk further on, but there was no way I was going up to make it to The Shooting Cabin and visibility would have been zero anyway, so I headed back home to the warmth. I am really pleased with this capture given the conditions I had to take it in. It’s gone on to be my most popular shot of the iconic Twenty Trees.

Images are shown in low resolution. This takes away much of the fine detail that can be seen on the prints themselves. If you would like to see a high resolution version, please message me and I can send this to you using a secure website.

Everything is made to order.

Shipping is usually 1 - 2 weeks.
