Barrow Fell from Dodd Wood
Taken on my first visit to Dodd Wood. I knew that the view from the track that takes you up and around Dodd was going to be fantastic and it didn’t disappoint. I picked a day with broken cloud in the hope of being able to capture shards of light raining down onto the landscape below. And this is exactly what I got. The view from here takes you from Helvellyn right over to Grisedale Pike, so I just had my eyes peeled with my camera & telephoto lens sat on my tripod. After only as short while this monumental shard of light came out of nowhere! It stayed there for a good minute or so, plenty of time for me to capture it.
